Breaking Away from a Sales-Driven Model

While I never aspired to become a financial advisor initially, I have been helping those I love make better investing decisions from my own research and experience for over 20 years. When I was approached by a seasoned local advisor to join his firm, I decided to get professionally trained and licensed. However, I quickly learned that the firm had a priority of pushing underperforming investment products or unnecessary insurance, along with profiting by commissions and pressure on representatives from quotas. I did not want those influences on my clients, so I founded Schutte Financial in order to provide leading solutions based on client goals rather than something deemed acceptable by a firm driven by sales objectives. In a virtual environment, we can now leverage technology to connect with clients at their convenience while maintaining a fiduciary duty with more flexibility to support lasting success.

Building Trust in a Virtual-First Relationship

The largest hurdle with the virtual environment is making a solid connection and building trust. Individuals historically may feel that a physical building or in-person meeting is customary, but character is revealed regardless of communication method, and meetings can still be live with online technology. What can help with making informed decisions is learning about advisor reputation through third-party validation like public client reviews and credible recognition. Interaction with an advisor who demonstrates both care and competency can provide the confidence needed to develop a successful relationship.

Starting With the Client’s Story

Schutte Financial treats each individual like family as testified in our 5-star client reviews. Clients start by sharing their story and financial goals. An advisor listens intently and connects on a personal level before sharing potential options for lasting support despite temporary circumstances. Our mission is to help clients reach their goals faster through top-performing investments that achieve personal objectives.

  • A brilliant and honorable man who truly takes care of his clients as if they were his own family. I firmly recommend him every chance I get.

Using Technology Without Losing the Human Connection

While most clients still value a live experience, many are becoming more comfortable with video conferencing, which can support advisor availability and client convenience. Technology can be used to support the overall experience as long as it is aligned to core principles and personal care defined by mutual respect. Detailed information, ongoing updates, and custom options can be aggregated for more accurate and timely support when human oversight is engaged.

Making Integrity and Communication the Foundation

While all clients expect competency and care, integrity and communication are leading qualities. That means demonstrating transparency in account management while providing recurring updates and being available to respond quickly to inquiries or concerns. These qualities are essential for lasting relationships and virtual methods can assist those who value them.
